I’m a 1st-year resident trainee subspecializing in neurology.
I’m also a fresh-out-of-the-oven new dad in December 2023.
But most excitedly, I’m kickstarting my career as a part-time researcher.
(Not that my baby comes in second place in terms of exciting things in my life right now **cough cough** Don’t let my wife know! **cough cough**)
After 4 years in the clinical field, I’m just beginning to realize the value of cramping in the molecules of the Krebs cycle once upon a time in medical school.
This is my journey of heading back to the drawing board — back to the lab bench from the bedside.
To explore what exactly causes certain diseases so that we can tackle them fundamentally.
And, yes, I’m doing this part-time, without any background in academic research whatsoever.
I hope to share with you the lightbulb moments I’ve stumbled upon along the way and inspire you to reach your full potential (despite your busy schedule) in pushing your field beyond its boundaries.
So this virtual space is where I think about the intersection between clinical neurology, basic neuroscience, and the human mind.
